HP Envy
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy with Windows 8.1. My computer has HP SimplePass on it. I exported my user names and passwords to a CD. I have also backed up other documents from my computer. Now I want to refresh it because there seems to be some problems. I can't seem to do a recovery back to a specified time however i keep getting notice that the recovery didn't completely work so my last updates also seem to be old. After i do the recovery and then do an import on Simple Pass from my CD will all my passwords and user names, they way there were, go back on to Simple Pass. i just want to make sure before i do the recovery. Another thought is will doing a refresh automatically save my user names and passwords like it says it does save my documents and files?.

@Stilwellgang,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether all your passwords will be restored in the SimplePass software after recovery.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Are you planning to do a refresh or a recovery on the computer? Refresh and recovery are two different things. Recovery will put the computer back to its original factory settings.

The SimplePass software will restore all your passwords and settings if the backup is taken correctly.

Please refer to the below article for more information on HP SimplePass.

NOTE: The article is for the Windows 7 operating system however the steps are the same.

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
