We are trying to remove HP Support Assistant 8.7.50.3 quietly without any user intervention. Unfortunately every time it uninstalls it asks the end user "do you want to keep your settings..." then pops up a website asking why it was uninstalled. This is unacceptable as we will be removing this from about 300 machines.
The Registry says the uninstallString is as listed below but that location doesn't exist for some reason. I would need the installer for 8.7.50.3 but I am unsure what the SP#####.exe installer name.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{1E14ACF0-1480-4467-A73D-67C4FD35A5F4}\setup.exe" -runfromtemp -l0x0409 -removeonly
I have also tried uninstalling with msiexec /qn and it still prompts the user
msiexec /x {1E14ACF0-1480-4467-A73D-67C4FD35A5F4} /qn
I also have tried getting the newest version (sp98862) extracted the contents, ran the UninstallHPSA.exe which also prompts for user interaction.

While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:
The HP Support Assistant is recommended for all HP computers to assist with computer maintenance, software upgrades, troubleshooting problems, and many other options. HP does not recommend removing HP Support Assistant. If you want to uninstall HP Support Assistant because it opens automatically and interrupts other tasks on the computer, then a better alternative is to prevent it from starting automatically (refer to Preventing HP Support Assistant from opening automatically) or adjust the time HP Support Assistant performs tasks (refer to HP Support Assistant interrupts games, movies, or TV). If you still want to uninstall HP Support Assistant or need to uninstall it for troubleshooting purposes, use the following steps:
-
In Windows, search for an open Uninstall a program.
-
On the Programs and Features window, select HP Support Assistant, then click Uninstall.
Figure : Uninstall HP Support Assistant
-
Click Yes on the Programs and Features screen to confirm you want to uninstall HP Support Assistant.
Figure : Uninstall confirmation
-
Restart your computer to complete the process.
If the above doesn't work, please create a new user account and check if that works.
