I have hp envy 15 j123tx model laptop and i want to increase my ram. I have 4gb ram installed. Can I further add 8gb ram Like the combination of 4+8 is possible?? or I should add again 4gb like 4+4 .

Installed RAM 4GB <=== current
Maximum memory Up to 16GB
Type of memory DDR3
Therefore you can add 8GB to the second slot but you won't be able to get full benefit of dual channels architecture which requires BOTH slots have same RAM.
