Hello.
We are Eastern Europe-based and purchasing licenses for RGS has been very hard. Since 2020 our company has been using RGS,  and always we've had to wait for a bit after purchase, but lately this has been even worse. The business model with resellers and distributors is very time wasteful and it's impacting our work. Are there are plans/possibilities to improve the process? Having to wait 1 month for software license is very suboptimal.

Thanks

I am sorry to hear it has taken a long time to get licenses.  On the official RGS website link further down, you can also purchase licenses online.  When you click on the "Buy Online" button, you will get the estore purchasing option.

It sounds like you are going through a reseller/channel partner.   If you are bundling your licenses with HP Z Workstations, the licenses should be processed with 24 to 48 hours after the order is received, but I have had resellers/channel partners pull from their own stock which does cause issues with getting the licenses on a timely basis, and we do have a solution for that.  On the below link to the official RGS website, if you scroll a little way down, you will see a "Redeem Your License" button.  You will need to complete the form so the license email can be sent to you.  If you would like HP to look into the delay in licenses, please send an email to [email protected] so I can collect better details to improve this process.  I can also then see if we can have someone from HP Sales for RGS work on getting this resolved.

We did make it easier for customers to get software download on the official RGS website, no more forms to fill out or logging in.  https://www.hp.com/us-en/workstations/z-remote-graphics-software.html

Hi Kelly,

Thank you for getting back to me!

Yes, we've been using resellers since 2020. We are purchasing just the software (No HP Z hardware).

Earlier this year it took 1 month to purchase and receive the licenses. Now we need to increase them by few more and we are almost at 1 month of waiting again.
I've looked before at the website you mentioned, and it was showing only something like Anyware Standard prices while afaik we are using Anyware Professional. Now it is showing just "HP 1Y RGS License UR1P6SL". Should I understand it that this way now its simplified (after dropping Anyware) and this is the correct product?

Also, in our case, if we purchase 10 more licenses now it won't be a problem to add them to our local license server which provides the ones we bough earlier? It will just serve two different license quantities but with different expiry dates. Is this correct?

Hello

Are you trying to add more HP Anyware Pro Graphic licenses to your existing license server or wanting to purchase the new RGS V26 licenses? RGS V26 licenses use the same license server that HP Anyware uses but only work for RGS V26 software.  HP Anyware Pro Graphic licenses worked with both HP Anyware agents and ZCentral Remote Boost V22 senders but also support RGS V26 senders.  RGS V26 releases are the path for upgrades on the senders that were ZCentral Remote Boost V22.  Hoping this makes sense.

If you are wanting to add more HP Anyware Pro Graphic licenses to an existing server, that can be done.  HP Anyware Support has an update on this.  https://anyware.hp.com/  Click on Read the Announcement button.

I am checking to see if you can have both RGS V26 licenses and HP Anyware Pro Graphic licenses on the same license server.   The legacy (RGS7 and Remote Boost V20) floating license server used to allow for that, and I don't see why this would not be possible if the RGS V26 licenses are put under the same account as the HP Anyware licenses, but I want to confirm this, and not provide you with incorrect information.   Will update this post after confirming.

HP RGS does have 1-Yr and 3-Yr options, but the e-store that you looked at only has the option for the 1-Yr.  It was pretty much designed so that smaller or single users could purchase them directly.  We have customers that only want to buy one or two licenses and this option makes it easier for them to purchase.

I would like to look up your account and see how I can better assist you in getting licenses more efficiently.  Could you send an email to [email protected]  and reference this post from the forum.

Hi Kelly,

thank you for the quick response.

I've emailed the address you provided.

Thank you.  I have reviewed the email and responded.  I will be moving this issue along today to people who can make this a better experience.  Also, I did mention in my reply that there is a 3-Yr option (link) on the Buy Online option for RGS V26 licenses.  However, if you are adding more HP Anyware Pro Graphic licenses, to use both or either of the two remoting solutions, then this is not the website you would purchase from.  Hoping to get everything resolved to meet your expectations.
