MacBook Pro 15-inch, 2017
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi all,

I have a problem with mac receiver. This is my first installation, so I don't know if this issue affects all mac receiver versions or only the latest. My configuration is:

  • Receiver: MacBook Pro 15, 2017 with macOS 10.15.7 (19H114) and Receiver - Version: 20.1.1.8114.
  • Sender: Supermicro SuperServer with Kubuntu 20.04.1 LTS and Sender - Version: 20.1.0.26348.

Magic mouse and magic trackpad normally works very fine, but with the ZCentral Remote Boost the scroll sensitivity is extremely high. Small finger movement cause the scroll of entire pages on the remote PC.

I tried to modify the scroll sensitivity in the system preference of macOS. On macOS changes are evident, but this has no effect on receiver. So i tried to modify the scroll sensitivity on remote PC, this also has no effect.

I tried to connect a mouse with traditional wheel. It's works fine both on macOS and in receiver.

I made a little bit of debug and i found with xinput. This is the output of xinput list

⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ HID 0557:2419 id=8 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Logitech MX Anywhere 3 id=9 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Remote Boost Wacom Tablet stylus id=10 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Remote Boost Wacom Tablet eraser id=11 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ HID 0557:2419 id=7 [slave keyboard (3)]

ZCentral sender does not create a new virtual mouse, but it use the Virtual core XTEST pointerLogitech MX Anywhere 3 and HID 0557:2419 are devices connected to remote PC.

Virtual core XTEST pointer is a dummy mouse and there is no way to setup the scroll sensitivity. I think that the only way to fix this issue is through ZCentral Software.

I will appreciate any help!

Best regards,

Simone.

Let me inquire about this.  I have Macs but do not have any specialty mouse or trackpad for it.

We are going to order the Magic mouse and trackpad so we can investigate this.  Are you using the Magic Mouse 2 and Trackpad 2?

Hi there, any news about this issue?

I have the same problem. To add a little more detail (at least on my system), the following seem related:

  • Right clicking using the two-finger tap gesture causes the view to scroll down before invoking the context menu (which then appears on the wrong object). In my case, it scrolls down 6 lines in a text based view.
  • After scrolling up or down, the view will scroll down after you lift your fingers from the trackpad. In my case, it scrolls 3 lines (half the right click distance).
  • The same behavior is seen with the built-in trackpad (MacBook Pro 15-inch) and a connected Magic Trackpad.
  • A regular Windows style USB mouse plugged into the Mac scrolls and right clicks as expected with no additional scrolling. Using the scroll wheel appears to be set to scroll 3 lines per click, so the additional scrolling when using the track pad may be sending one or two "scroll wheel click" commands.
  • Regardless of the scroll direction setting in System Preferences (Natural or not), the additional scrolling is always down (i.e. it scrolls down in the content so the top 3-6 lines are scrolled off the top of the view)

We just received our Magic mouse and trackpads last week.  I will provide update after testing.
