RGS receiver

Hi Guys,

 

Recently I encounter some unexpected behaviour of RGS software, which the RGS receiver does not automatically resume the session after a short 3 sec network outage.  Hope someone could point me to the right direction to configure the auto recover session for RGS.

 

My version of RGS sender and receiver are 7.2.1

 I double checked our receiver configuration that has 30 s error timeout value set. And sender side have 30,000 millisecond network timeout configured as well.

 

With above setting, the RGS receiver is supposed to resume the connection during short network outage for less 30 second, as our understanding.

 

However, we observed is that when the short network outage last less than 3 sec happen, the RGS drops out the session from sender, user will need to relogin again.

 

Is there any condition that could cause the RGS receiver/sender prematurely terminate the session before reaching the network error time out threadhold?

 

Is the error timeout value the right place to allow RGS receiver to reconnect to the sender after the network outage.

 

We also noticed that during the network outage/switch over, the RGS send host may receive the ICMP "TTL exceed" packet from the upstream router. Could the ICMP "TTL exceed" packet would cause the session prematurely terminated before the network error time out value reached?
