ZCentral Connect
Microsoft Windows Server 2016

Hi,

I am having some issues with ZCentral Connect and the trial license. I installed ZCentral Connect on our Windows 2016 VM and obtained a trial license. I put the .lic file into C:\Program Files\HP\ZCentralConnectManager and restarted the service. When i open Zcentral Connect i get the error that says "No valid license found". Any ideas what i am doing wrong ?

Another issue i have is when i tried to open the URL for Connect in Chrome i get "page cannot be displayed" but if i open it in Firefox it loads just fine.

I will need to collect the Manager.log file.  Will send you a private message.

The license must be placed at ProgramData\HP\ZCentralConnectManager
About the error opening on Chrome, can you provide a screen shot?

Thank you, i put the lic file in the correct place and i no longer have license error.

The next issue is i am not able to connect a host to the connect manager, it always shows:

I have already installed the connect client on the host.

This is the error i get in Chrome:

But it works fine in FireFox.

Just wanted to be sure, in your comments you mention installing the client on the hosts.  Did you mean Agent?  The Agent needs to be installed on the hosts.

Also, make sure you are using https://

The error on Chrome looks like more related to internet configuration (probably proxy) rather than Connect. Since Mozilla Firefox has it own network settings, this can be the issue, Chrome uses the configuration from the OS.
  • The first test is to check if it is possible to open other site on Chrome, such as www.hp.com.
  • Then we can try to compare both browsers configurations:
    • On Chrome go to chrome://settings/system and click on "Open your computer's proxy settings", check if proxy is correctly set-up
    • On Firefox you must go to about:preferences#general then scroll down and select the last option "Settings" under Network Settings.
    • The configurations must match, if there's any difference, try to reproduce the configuration from Firefox.

If you still have issues, I will need to collect some screenshots of your settings from the Computer Proxy settings and Firefox Network Settings but would like to capture those in a private email.

Yes, sorry,  i installed the agent on the hosts but when i look at the ZCentral Connect server it says "The Agent for this host is not connected" for all of them. Is there some sort of network communication that's not happening ?

I have still not been able to get the agents connected to the server. Agents are on WIndows 10 and the server is on Windows 2016.
