ZCENTRAL

zcentral receiver will take 60 seconds to open the session once the senders credentials are typed in into the window.

I'am running version 22.1.1 in both receiver and sender.
License is obtained from a local anyware manager server.

Any clues?

We did a fix for this in 22.1.2.9453.  Can you please try that receiver and see if your issue is resolved?  If not, please reach out to me on zcentral@hp.com as I will require more info and prefer not to have logs, etc on the forum.  You can download V22.1.2.9453 from HP Software Depot  https://h30670.www3.hp.com/portal/swdepot/index.do

Hello,
It sounds like you're experiencing a delay when opening a session with the central receiver. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue: ringsizechart

  1. Check Network Connection: Ensure that both the receiver and sender have a stable network connection. Any network issues can cause delays.

  2. Update Software: Make sure both the receiver and sender are running the latest version of the software. Sometimes, updates include performance improvements and bug fixes.

  3. Review License Configuration: Verify that the license is correctly configured on your local Anyware Manager server. Incorrect license settings can cause delays.

  4. Check System Resources: Ensure that both the receiver and sender have sufficient system resources (CPU, memory) available. High resource usage can cause delays.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, you might want to consult them or reach out to their support for further assistance.

Best Regards,
James Henry

Hi Kelly, I forgot to leave some feedback regarding this issue. The new version helped a lot but still has a 10 to 20 seconds delay until the remote desktop is displayed. Is there a minimum known delay for zcentral senders using a local anywere license server?

Hello,

Thanks for the additional feedback.  So 22.1.2. helped but still seeing a delay.  The other thought I had is to change the license order since you are using a CA+ license server.  You can find this rgsenderconfig file in the following locations.  Make sure you have admin privileges to edit the file, and when you save the change, do not perform a SaveAs you will just get another rgsenderconfig file as a .txt and nothing will change.

Windows Sender:  Program Files/HP/Remote Graphic Sender

Linux Sender:  /etc/opt/hpremote/rgsender

This is the default search order for the sender to find a valid license.

## Sets the preferred order that the Sender will attempt to checkout licenses in.
# Rgsender.PreferredLicenseOrder=Preload General HDI Trial CA+

to change, remove # and then move CA+ to the front, shown below.

## Sets the preferred order that the Sender will attempt to checkout licenses in.
Rgsender.PreferredLicenseOrder=CA+ Preload General HDI Trial

Save the change, and then restart the sender to have the change take effect.

I am not sure if this will help, but this is what we recommend so the sender doesn't have

to search so much for the correct license.

If you still have issues, I have attached my elevation template.  Could you send that to me at zcentral@hp.com

and reference your post title as the subject line.

Thanks!

Hello Kelly, thanks for your response.

Just thinking out loud but, what would be a correct configuration for this setting in case the machine I'm trying to connecto to is a Z8G4 (the ones that already have embedded licensing for Zcentral).

Should I demove the CA?

Rgsender.PreferredLicenseOrder=Preload General HDI Trial

If you are using Remote Boost V22.1.2 on your Z8 G4, it will no longer use the preload "Free on Z LIcense" as that expired Jan 10, 2023.  It will require the CA+ license.  I wanted to ask if you are on a dark/air-gapped network?  We had a couple of users that reported the sender was slow to launch on those types of network, but we couldn't get a network setup that would replicate the issues.  I am attaching the elevation template so we can better look into this.  Can you send me the completed template to my zcentral@hp.com email referencing this post as the subject title so I know what this is for?
