http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/Electric-shock-tingling-in-fingers-when-laptop-is-NOT...

Product name and no: HP Pavilion dv6t-6b00 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC (bought last month)

Win 7 Home premium is preloaded.

The laptop has a brushed aluminium kinda finish. The electric connection has a three pronged plug. My problem is whenever the laptop is NOT plugged in but running on the battery, I get a tingling sensation (as if there is a mild current passing) when I touch the laptop lid. This is NOT the static current... I DONT get an electric shock. When I attached the electric plug to the outlet, I dont get the tingling sensation.

I have searched online and there are a lot of reported incidents of tingling sensations / shocks for all kinds of laptops with metal body (apple, hp, dell, etc.) but they all have issues when the laptop is PLUGGED in. Mine happens when the laptop is NOT plugged in.

Does anyone else have similar problem? IS that electricity harmful to my 2 year old baby? Please reply. I am reporting this to HP support also today. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Regards

nicholas iyadurai.

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for Hewlett-Packard.
