So it's been 7 months since I bought my first HP Laptop and I have gone through a tsunami of problems since then. The computer came with a faulty hard drive and fan, which I sent in for repairs. They replaced both, but then the motherboard fried and they took the entire thing back and gave me a replacement computer. The replacement computer arrived with a broken CD drive, so I sent that back and the new one they sent me has blue-screen crashing errors, sound controls that won't work, and a strange whining noise coming from it.
I contacted HP again, and they want to replace the computer one more time... but they offered me a computer that's inferior to the intial one I purchased, let alone the replacement. After a few e-mails arguing and proving to her why it was inferior (replacement computer would have integrated graphics while the original had dedicated), she continued to argue and offer me a different computer with an inferior processor and hard drive despite her claiming originally that they would certainly not give me a downgrade.
I asked for a refund if she would not give me an equivalent computer, but she said I would be "pro-rated" for having the computer for 7 months... Which doesn't make any sense because I have been in contact with them and sending the computers and parts back and forth since then, so I haven't had it since.
After I declined her offer to replace it with an inferior product, and she said to not e-mail her back and to instead go through tech support again but she would make sure a replacement wasn't available to me. I asked to speak with the manager, but she hasn't responded to that yet. Tech support was unable to fix the problems remotely (They had me perform a system recovery and reformat it to factory settings... nothing was resolved).
I'm very frustrated. As a Graphic Designer and Copywriter, I rely on my computer to get work done. I've already lost so much productivity and I feel like I have been utterly shafted on all sides.
Is there anything else I can do at this point to get a functional computer or refund?
