Being Charged on OLD INK without using the Instant ink

I got this hp envy 5032 with the ink. But then I signed up for the hp instant ink.i have received the ink but have NEVER used it. Just today, I received a bill of £4 deducted from my PayPal for pages I printed with the NON Instant Ink supplied INk! How is that even possible?! The links that were sent are still in their plastics unopened! This is ridiculous.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

Are you using an Instant Ink ready printer? Is yes, your Instant Ink account gets activated once you enroll the printer in Instant Ink program. The set up cartridges you receive become Instant Ink cartridges once the enrollment is complete. Every page you print gets counted.
