Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!
- What is the error message that you are getting during the installation?
Let's try these steps:
Step 1: Run the 'HP Print and Scan Doctor'
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
- Once HP Print and Scan Doctor is open, click Start, and then choose your printer.
- If your printer is not listed, turn it on and click Retry.
- If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in the tool.
- Click on 'Fix printing'. This check for driver errors if any and automatically fixes the issue.
- Follow the onscreen instructions and check if this resolves the issue
- If the issue persists, proceed to the next step
Step 2: Uninstalling and re-installing the printer driver
- In Windows, search for 'Control Panel' and open 'Programs' or 'Programs and features' and select 'Uninstall a Program'.
- Select your HP Printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for 'Control Panel' and look for 'View devices and printers'option under 'Hardware and Sound'.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'.
- Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
- Click on the "Drivers" tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select Ok.
- Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
- Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
- Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart the computer.
- Download the printer driver and install it from this link https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/printers.
- Select your printer model and download the compatible driver.
- Open the downloaded file, follow onscreen instructions and complete installation
- Try printing from your PC again and check if you can print.
This should install the driver and with this, you should also be able to print in color.

The error that you are getting 'Error 2753' refers to the Windows installer error.
Refer to this KB article from Microsoft.
Let's try these steps:
Step 1: Clear 'Temp' files from Windows.
- Press the Windows Button + R to open the "Run" dialog box.
- Enter this text: %temp%
- Click "OK." This will open your temp folder.
- Press Ctrl + A to select all.
- Press "Delete" on your keyboard and click "Yes" to confirm.
- All temporary files will now be deleted.
Step 2: Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files
System File Checker (SFC) is a utility in Microsoft Windows that allows users to scan for and restore corruptions in Windows system files.
- On the windows start menu search for a program called 'command prompt'
- right click on the app and select 'Run as Administrator'
- When Command Prompt opens, enter 'sfc /scannow' and press Enter.
- The repair process will now start. Don’t close Command Prompt or interrupt the repair process. The repair process can take a while, so wait patiently while it completes.
- When the SFC scan is complete, the Command Prompt might state, “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.” If that’s the case, restart Windows.
- Re-install the printer driver from here.
- Try to print again.
- If the issue persists, try to update Windows.
Let me know if this helps.
Cheers!

- Have you tried to update Windows?
- Are you using OEM version of windows?
Let's try these steps:
Step 1: Check the Windows Installer Service
-
Press Windows + R keys and type service.msc.
-
In the Service, window scroll down and find the Windows Installer service. Double-click Windows Installer in the Services list to open its properties window.
-
On the General tab, make sure the service is started under Service status.
-
If the service was stopped, under Service status, then start the service by clicking on the Start button, and then click OK.
Step 2: Unregister and re-register the Windows Installer
-
Press Windows + R to open Run.
-
In the run type the following command "MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER" and click on OK.
-
Press Windows + R to open Run.
-
In the run type the following command "MSIEXEC /REGSERVER" and click on OK.
-
Now, try installing the package again and check.
Let me know what happens.

The windows came pre-installed on my laptop, so it must be OEM version. I checked windows update and it show my windows is updated.
I tried the above steps, the windows installer was stopped, so i started it as you had suggested. After step 2 I tried to install the driver again but still can not install the driver from hp website.
However, I am able to print in both color and black & white, by adding my printer through 'add printer' from the settings.
