I have a single print server on our network with approximately 35 HP printers. We are looking to use HP Web JetAdmin to administer these printers but are getting some questions back from management that do not appear to be clear in the documentation.
Do we need to install Web JetAdmin on both the print server and then the client portion on a workstation for management or can it be installed/run only from a workstation?
Any input is greatly appreciated. My network is being used as a test for this software in hopes it will allow us to centralize management as well as clear up some specific security findings that we know can only be resolved via the Web JetAdmin interface.
Thank you in advance -

Hi RonniB,
WJA can be installed on a server and a client session can be initiated from a browser.
Here is the WJA installation guide - http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01857435
Which lists the supported OS and pre-requisites.
When you have the WJA installed on a supported OS, you need not have to install on the clients. You can access the WJA server via a client session.
Here is an example of the URL used to activate HP Web Jetadmin on a supported Windows desktop: http://myhost:8000
Client Application The HP Web Jetadmin client application requires the following: ● Internet Explorer 8, 9, 10, or 11 ● Display with a minimum resolution of 1024 x 768 Notes ● Internet Explorer is required to start the HP Web Jetadmin client application. For more information about Internet Explorer requirements and limitations, see the support documentation for the Windows operating system that you are using. ● Administrator access is not required to run the HP Web Jetadmin client application. ● A maximum of 15 concurrent client sessions are allowed
Let me know if this helps!
