If my printer is connected to the internet for the Instant Ink service, is my network and other computers and devices accessible to HP?

@Steve283, thanks for your prompt response and time again.
HP does not have access to devices connected to the network.
As I said my statement each device connected to the network should have web services enabled on them to access it.
However, web services are only available on HP printers. No other products from HP have web services.
Refer this video instruction from HP support to know more information about how web services function. Click Here
Hope this makes it clear! 🙂

Hey there! @Steve283, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Is your printer connected to the internet?
No, Instant ink can only access the printer connected to the account. It cannot access any other devices connected to your network.
HP instant ink works only with printers having webservices. As other devices connected to network does not have webservices they cannot be used or accessed over the network.

Thanks for your reply Mr Robot. My home network consists of a netgear orbi which is connected to the web through my internet provider. My HP printer is connected to the orbi to reach the web. However my computer is also connected to the orbi and then to web. Thus my concern that HP has access to my computer. Per your comments this seems to me both the printer and the computer do have webservices and therefore is contrary to your comment, “As other devices connected to the network does not have websevices they cannot be used or accessed over the network “. So my question remains, does HP have access to my network and the devices connected to it since all are connected to the web?
Thank you.

Okay, that helped clear it up. I was interpreting the term web service generically, as if it meant internet service. In fact it is specifically HP Web Services , propriety to HP. Since HP Web Service is only on the HP printer and not my other devices, HP can’t access the other devices.
Thanks
