I don’t know if I’ve ever purchased a worse piece of equipment. I have 2 8710s and neither ever works. When I bought the printer I had trouble with it always going offline. By the grace of the technology gods one day it just started working... then I moved. When I set the printer back up it seems the technology gods have turned on me again or HP just made a crappy product. I spent the last 3 hours trying to get the stupid thing to print. It was offline for the first two hours. Went through all the normal troubleshooting. Restart this. Restart that. Uninstall this. Reinstall that. All the BS that I shouldn’t have to do on a Saturday night when all I need to to print 5 quick copies.
Well here we are. I did ever sort of troubleshooting I could think of and finally got the green check and the most beautiful “Printer Ready” notification after a mere 2 hours troubleshooting on a freaking Saturday night. I was finally going to get my document and be done... “Printer Error”. I guess it’s just not meant to be. Can someone please explain to me what’s the hell is so difficult about plugging in a printer, connecting it to the network, then to the computer so that magically documents can spit out of it? Am I missing something?
Please help me understand how to print on my $300 paperweight that is about to become a yard ornament by way of the window.
Sincerely,
Concerned

@allaretaken, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver/network issue.
Restart the network devices
- Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer/ mobile devices.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.
- Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.
- Turn on the computer/ mobile devices.
- Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
- This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. The PC should be on a 2.4GHz network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue
Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.
Try printing.
Let me know how this goes.
