Hi @Jo143,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're facing issues with your HP LaserJet 1020 printer after reloading it onto your system. You can follow these steps to resolve the spooling problem:

Check Printer Installation:

  • Ensure that the printer driver is correctly installed. You can use the HP LaserJet 1020 software CD to reinstall the driver or download the latest driver from the HP Support website.

Delete and Re-add the Printer:

  • Go to "Devices and Printers" in your Control Panel, right-click on the HP LaserJet 1020 printer, and select "Remove device."
  • Once removed, click "Add a printer" and follow the prompts to re-add your printer.

Reinstall the Driver:

  • Insert the HP LaserJet 1020 software CD or download and run the setup from the Official HP® Support.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Restart Print Spooler Service:

  • Open the "Services" app by typing "services.msc" in the Run dialog (press Win + R to open).
  • Locate "Print Spooler" from the list of services.
  • Right-click on it and select "Restart."

Check Printer Queue:

  • Navigate to the printer queue by right-clicking on your printer icon in "Devices and Printers" and selecting "See what's printing."
  • Clear any jobs in the queue that may be stuck.

Test the Printer:

  • Print a test page to see if the issues are resolved. You can do this from "Printer Properties" under "Devices and Printers."

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
