Recommended action
- Turn the printer off, and then on.
- If the error persists, please contact HP customer support.
Recommended action call-center agents and onsite technicians
- Turn the printer off, and then on.
- Verify the cables between scanner and scanner control board (SCB) are connected. (connection 6 — ADF (side 2) FFC). Also check the connection from the ADF to the PCA on the scanner. (Image 2)SCB ConnectionsFigure : Scanner connection
- Ensure the FFC cable routing from the ADF has been installed correctly and is not bent, torn or the edge nicked.
note:
If this occurs after the installation of a new ADF, remove the FFC, check for damage and re-route. - Replace the document feeder assembly.For instructions: See the Repair Service Manual for this product.Part number:DescriptionHP Part NumberDocument feeder (M577c/z) kitB5L47-67905Document feeder (M577dn/f) kitB5L47-67904
- If the issue persists, replace the SCB.For instructions: See the Repair Service Manual for this product.Part number: B5L47-67903
