Error : 49 service error

Problem Description: communication error

The possible cause could be: if firmware is not update or documents stuck on queue

Corrective Action:

1>Check in standalone mode without usb or network cable .

2>If printer is turning on and came to ready mode check printing config report from printer

through setup > reports >config report

option on printer.

3>FW should be upto date if not go to hp site and check

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-m477-series/732... . You can install FW

and then connect the usb cable with PC and when running the setup file in PC

the printer should be selected and when we send firmware printer should get restart

if printer restarted the FW will be updated.

4>check with different IP address if connected on Lan.

5> If This error comes while printing any pdf document

just check these options

pcl 6 drivers (devices and printers > right click on printer icon >

printer preference option > advance >

printer features >

a)send true type as bitmap: Enabled

b)Alternative letterhead mode: OFF

c)Raster compression : Automatic

d)Print data optimisation : Raster for optimisation

and apply and ok

Is there any chance to get the old firmware?

because after this update there are some documents which aren't printed out anymore.

other printers work, but only m477 after update seems to struggle.

before it worked like a charm.

>You can to do one thing if you are not able to print few documents so try going to the www.hp.com/go/upd.

> Click on Download universal printing drivers then  Install Universal Postscript Driver (32bit/64 bit).

>Download the driver and check printing from that particular Documents.

> By installing these drivers i think so your issue will be solved.

The failure was related to a font.

Doesn't care if it is in a Word document or a pdf.

Also it is enough if a empty row or only a return is placed with this font.

I'm not sure why. Have to check that further.
