Hi @sanjeev9445,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing scanner errors. The error codes "5.0" and "52.0" are generally related to hardware issues within the scanner of an HP printer. Below are general troubleshooting steps you can follow to help resolve the scanner errors:

Restart the Printer

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about a minute before plugging it back in and turning it on. This can often reset and clear minor issues.

Check for Obstructions

  • Open the scanner lid and inspect the scanner glass and the area around it for any debris or obstructions that might hinder the scanner's movement.

Check Cables and Connections

  •

Clear any Paper Jams

  • Ensure there are no paper jams inside the printer. Any paper debris can sometimes trigger scanner errors.

Update Firmware

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check and update the firmware via the HP website.

Scanner Test:

  •  Perform a scanner test by using the copy function to make a copy of a document and observe if the operation completes successfully without errors.

Take care and have an amazing day!

This error code is the laser scanner not the scanner used for copying. This is an internal part that can only be accessed by disassembling the printer.

Hi,

Thank you for responding your query.

The 5.0 scanner error you're experiencing is indeed referring to an internal component related to the laser scanner unit, not the scanner used for copying or scanning documents.

This type of error typically requires professional service, as it involves accessing internal mechanisms, which should be done by qualified technicians only.

Reset the Printer:

  •  Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about a minute. Then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear temporary issues.

Firmware Updates

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. This can resolve glitches that may cause such errors. Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP website for updates.
