Error 52 is a consistent problem I have had off and on for about a year with this machine and I'm beyond frustrated! I have upgraded to the lastest firmware and I have got it plugged into the wall. What other suggestions does someone have? I've actually unloaded and reloaded the software for this machine since it's purchase (about 4 years ago) more times than I can remember.
It's so annoying because it'll print, copy, scan fine (never used as a fax machine) for awhile during the day, then all of a sudden this error pops up out of the blue. WHY? I'll cut it off and back on and it might continue to work and it might not.
It just arbitrarily decides to stop working out of the blue and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I've even had our IT guy try to figure it out, his answer is to buy a new machine!

Hi @ConnieAP,
Please give us the full error code you are getting. It has the following format: 52.WX.YZ
The general 52.* error family relates to the laser/scanner unit:
52.* errors
- Check all connections on the laser/scanner and from the laser/scanner to the DC controller, and reseat them if necessary.
- If the error persists, replace the laser/scanner.
Giving us the exact error code, we may help you better though.
I hope this helps,
Cheers!

3 ways:
1) via your display screen
2) via printing the event log
3) via the EWS

I'm sorry but I needs step by step how to print this because I can't print anything once I get the Error code on the screen unless I cut it off and back on, also I don't know how to print event log. What is EWS? Sorry, but I'm not a printer technician, just someone who needs this printer to work!

You 've just said that the error code shows up at your screen! What is it exactly? Just 52? Does it have 52.WX.YZ format?

This message shows up on the little printer screen is "52 Scanner Error Turn off then turn on" under a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the middle of it. I can't do anything on that screen unless I cut it off then back on and get it back to the start up screen.
I don't mean to be confusing at all. Sorry.

If you know its IP address (this means that it is on a local area network, LAN) then you can access the EWS by typing that IP address in a browser, and from there you can find the detailed event log for your printer
If not, then you can just follow the steps for the general error code 52.* I gave you before.

Yes, so follow the below steps for resolving your issue:
52.00.00 Error
- Turn the printer off and then on.
- Make sure that the latest firmware is installed on the printer.
- Perform the laser/scanner component tests in the Troubleshooting menu.
- If the component tests showed a startup failure, reconnect the connectors of the scanner motor (J56 and J58) and the DC controller PCA (J106).
- If the error persists, replace the laser/scanner.For instructions: See the Repair Service Manual for this product.Part number: RM1-6322-000CN
