Printed a simple PDF yesterday on my printer with no problems, then just happened to notice this error as I was walking by the printer today. It says 55.1 error - turn printer off and back on. So I've done that, but the error is still there.

I see various suggestions about unplugging the printer but they seem to apply to different printers and not this one.

What do I do now?

This printer covered by the same advice you have seen to unplug and wait. However if that does not resolve the issue then the next step is to perform an NVRAM reset and if that does not resolve the issue then replacement of the DC Controller is required.

I unplugged it and left it for a while and it made no difference.

How does one do a NVRAM reset on this particular printer?

Also, if I have to replace the controller, is this something that can be done at home? We've built & serviced PCs so are fairly technical. And how would we get this part if it is something we can do ourselves.
