My printer has a 59.F0 Error and I am trying to find a way to resolve this error.

I went through instructions to re-set the ITB, checking the sensor, as well as checking the fuser kit. Everything seems to be okay physically.

The next step I am trying to take is to install the latest firmware. The only problem is that when I run the firmware update, I get a notice that the 'Device is in error state and cannot be reflashed because of this. Resolve the problem and try again.'

Is there any way to update the firmware by getting around the 'error state' status?

Firmware will not help. This is a hardware issue.

The product has experienced an internal motor error:
  • 59.F0 = Transfer alienation failure
  • 59.3XXX = Fuser motor start error
  • 59.4XXX = Fuser motor rotation error
  • 59.7XXX = Developer motor start error
  • 59.8000 = Drum motor start error
  • 59.9000 = Developer motor start error
Recommended action
  1. Reset the printer:
    1. Turn off the power by using the power switch, and then wait at least 30 seconds.
    2. Turn on the power and wait for the product to initialize.
  2. If you are using a surge protector:
    1. Power off the printer.
    2. Remove the surge protector.
    3. Plug the product directly into the wall socket and turn the product power on.
  3. If the error persists, replace the appropriate motor depending on the error code:
    • For 59.F0 skip to STEP #4.
    • For 59.3XXX and 59.4XXX errors replace the Fuser Motor Assembly (HP Part #: RM1-8609-000CN).
    • For 59.7000 errors the Developer Motor, DC (HP Part #: RL1-3053-000CN).
    • For 59.8000 errors replace the Drum Motor, DC (HP Part #:RL1-1800-000CN).
    • For 59.9000 errors the Developer Motor, DC (HP Part #: RL1-3053-000CN).
  4. If the error persists, replace the Driver PCA Assembly (HP Part #: RM1-8032-000CN).
  5. If the error persists, replace the DC controller (HP Part #: RM2-8028-000CN).
  6. If the error persists, replace the product.

I hope this is helpful. I stumbled the same problem with HP Color Laserjet m452dn.

I tried updating the firmware but it wouldn't even detect internet connection even though it was connected to ethernet. Woulnd't even print our reports.

I went through the settings and decided to restore to default and it worked! Input the assign IP address back and started to print again.

I know it's late hope it'll help for the others.

It's caused by so called sticky solenoid which seat behind formatter, ADF......

Not so easy to get to it. You need to take out ADF,left, right, upper case.... first.

http://westhillprinters.blogspot.com/2011/12/sticky-solenoids.html

It controls black color and the other three colors (at the same time)to work with each other.

But because of sticky problem you got 59.C0 error.

What you need to do is to resolve the sticky solenoid issue.

Not an easy job to do but it's not so difficult either.

No need to really take apart everything before you to get to it .

What you really need to do is making a piece of V shape of paper its dimention maybe is 0.3 * 1.2 cm.

And find some ways to insert it into and between the solenoid's two metals to prevent the sticky issues happens again.

It will always has a small hole between gears and plastics. Find it out and insert the V shape paper into it.

After done that you will be fine.

Find it out where the solenoid is and there's no need to get it out from the machine you just need to find a way (or a hole, a gap) to try to insert a V-shape paper into between that two metals to keep them from stick together again. It always works.

You need a thin paper don't make it too thick!

Check here on youtube, not same models but same problems.

[EDIT]

Important: 25min 40sec white gears position. Remove the brown sponge from the solenoid and glue there a thin plastic piece. CM4540 is very similar. UPDATE!!!: I found an other video about this issue which is much more simple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kE1YhZXxLp0 I haven't tried it in that ...
