Unable to get the printer to work.  Was printing a number of pages yesterday, went to reload paper, and then "this" error 60.02 came on.  Can not find anything or any where on the internet to describe it or clear it.  Can someone please help?

Hi Rick_at_DoubleR,

This error is most probably a tray-2 lifting error, which means that the mechanism to lift tray-2, so that the pickup roller can pull the paper, has failed.

Remove tray-2 and check for any objects that may obstruct the free lifting of the tray.

Re-install tray-2 and try to hear if any sound (motor sound) comes out of the printer.

Use the Tray 2 paper surface sensor (PS4) test in the Tray/Bin manual sensor test to verify that the

sensor is properly functioning.

Check the connectors from the lifting drive assembly to the DC controller if they are securely seated.

Replace the tray-2 lifting drive assembly.

I hope this may help,

Cheers!

I have a very similar problem.

I  have a HP m477 which initially got stuck on the "Initializing" screen. I replaced the formatter PCB, but then I started getting  this 60.02 error instead!

I then tried the  following:

Replaced the DC controller PCB.

Re-seated all the connector.

Replaced the tray 2 sensor.

Replaced the lifter motor assembly.

I did "restore  defaults" but the 60.02 error is still  there.

If I start the printer without tray 2, it gives an error message, and when I put it back in, it reacts correctly.

However, if I remove tray 2 and put it back in, the printer is supposed to start a motor,  but I dont hear anything.

Also I am unable to get into the secondary service menu despite following instructions in the repair manual.

I loaded new toners and closed the printer.  Now I get a error 60.02.  I powered it off and on several times, including unpluged it several times.
