Hi @Andres-WPB

If you're encountering a "Standard bin full" error on a new HP printer, even though the output bin is not full, it can be frustrating. This error may occur due to issues with the output flap or the sensors. Here are steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Recommended Action for Customers

  1. Remove Paper:

    • Ensure the standard output bin is empty by removing any paper that might be present.
  2. Check for Persistence:

    • If the error message persists after clearing the bin, it could be due to issues with the printer components, given that the device was received with damaged packaging.
  3. Contact Customer Support:

    • If the error continues, especially considering the damage during delivery, it's advisable to contact HP customer support for assistance.

Recommended Action for Onsite Technicians

  1. Inspect for Paper Jams:

    • Thoroughly inspect the printer for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path and remove them.
  2. Inspect Flap Motion:

    • Check the motion of the output flap when printing to ensure that it opens properly and does not get stuck.
    • If the flap barely opens or has trouble opening:
      • Replace the output flap/sensor kit (Part number: D3Q24-67004).
  3. Replace Parts If Necessary:

    • If the output flap does not open at all, replace the output drive kit (Part number: D3Q24-67003).
    • Avoid using a Mech kit for replacement.
  4. Document and Elevate:

    • Document the issue in the case notes and follow the standard support process if additional assistance or parts are required.

Next Steps

Considering the newness of the device and the initial damage to the box, pursuing support through the place of purchase or directly with HP may be the best course of action. This route can address any potential warranty claims related to the transit damage.
