Lovely how the pictures work flawlessly in the textbox but are not visible in the final topic. Just normal jpg.

Hello,

First of all, I'm from The Netherlands, so my grammar is probably not 100% correct .

I have an ADF problem that I cannot solve. I did a hard reset as mentioned  in other comments. I cleaned the printer in the meanwhile so the 60 seconds became 10 minutes. Checked if the rollers could move by turing the hexagon nut with a tool I had. (The plastic nut is visible if you open up the tray to use the flatbed scanner instead of ADF).

I turned the printer back on and waited until it was idle.

When I load the documents and startup HP Scan, select the ADF, (single sided or double makes no difference), hit scan and it immediately jams. The printer beeps and doesn't even try to pick up the paper. It ends up with an error message on the printer lcd and pc.

Printer:

Translated:

Paper jam in document feeder. Remove paper, reload.Paper jam in document feeder. Remove paper, reload.

This never works, I can remove the paper, which is loosly in the feeder so no effort is required, and hit ok as often as I like, the message only disappears when I unpower the printer.

PC:

Translated:

The automatic document feeder for the scanner has jammed. Remove the jammed pages, place the pages to be scanned in the document feeder, and try again.

So cleaned, reset and a firmware update. So now I'm lost.

Image display is a spam control program. Images have to be moderated first to prevent spammer from posting fake phone numbers as a JPEG, as searching a JPEG is not effective, whereas searching text is. I have had a look at your pictures and have a couple of questions/suggestions. First did you have any jams recently with the ADF? If so, it is possible that a small bit of paper is blocking a sensor in the ADF feed path. The best method for dealing with this is to floss the ADF paper path. This is done by using a strip of thin Mylar or stiff cardboard and pushing it through the paper path in the direction of paper feed. Do this for the entire with of the feed path and look for any debris to be pushed out.

Wish I knew that a bit earlier, I was constantly trying to change the images. Better stop with that right now.

Moving on.

I never had an ADF problem before. I bought the printer with the feeder because it looked like something quite usefull. So to be honest, this is maybe the 4th time since 2015. But a person is never done learning so for a school project I need to scan a ton of documents. Never the less, I'll try your method.
