HP Laserjet p1102w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I keep getting a attention required message every time I try to print on Hp laserjet p1102w.

It also says user intervention required at times as well.

i have a non-hp ink cartridge on my printer and was wondering if this was causing the message.

I want to know how do I solve this error message and also if there is any way I can stop my printer from detecting a non-hp cartridge

Thank you for joining the HP Support Community

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • When was the last time the printer could print?
  • Did any software changes or updates happen on the computer?
  • Is the printer able to print from other devices/computers that are connected to the same wireless network?

Meanwhile, please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This is a free tool for Windows to help resolve issues with printer drivers.

Now, you may try to print and check.

If the issue persists then let us uninstall the printer drivers from the root level and then reinstall them. The following steps will help:

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • You may download and install the drivers from this link

Keep me posted, how it goes!
