m277dw

One week ago faced an issue with color quality. Last change was the yellow cartridge about two months ago with no issues. Changing the other two colors cartridges (which were about 10% remaining life) did not help. HP Smart Software shows an event log " Engine or Formatter Communication Error". Printer model is m277dw, the printed images tend to be dominated with yellow color. 

 

I have tried printing an image that previously printed when the printer was in good condition, the quality is way different. I have tried even printing using USB Flash. 

 

Is it really the cable between Engine or Formatter causing this issue?

Could you please help me with the operating system of the computer?

 

Try printing from a different application and check if the issue persists.

Are you facing the same issue while making a copy?

Thanks Raj for trying to help.

I am using windows 10, I have same problem when printing directly from the printer using USB. Also copying has same problem. 

Talking to local 3rd party technical support, informed me that board or motor responsible of colors mixing requires replacement which is costly. 

So I decided to buy a new printer and keep old one for non-critical prints until toner get empty.
