I know laser printers aren't ideal for photos. Is there a best type of paper to use that will optimize the output? I have some HP Premium Plus hoto paper for inkjet printers - left over from my previous printer. It doesn't work well with the laser printer. (I have the MFP M281fdw).

Thanks...

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

USA Store - Laser Printer Paper

In general, Brochure / Presentation paper works quite well (as long as the paper is designated for your printer type (laser)).

The matte versions of the brochure paper does not provide the "photo paper" surface found in glossy photo papers -- the matte paper does provide a nice print on paper; the paper is heavy enough that the ink sits well on the paper and does not (should not) leak through.

The store page also shows available "glossy" brochure paper option.

Thanks, but you're showing me products from Australia and Africa. I'm in the US. I see presentation paper and brochure paper in the HP online store, and that may work.

My question was really about which type of paper would optimize the quality of the output with a laser printer. Any guidance along those lines?

You are welcome.

Our Expert team is international -- like the members of the forum, our Experts represent (and live in) regions all over the world.

Most of the time we don't know the location of the people we are trying to help.  For lots of reasons, regional information is not obvious -- and there are likely members who, for any reason, may not be comfortable divulging this bit of information.

So, we do our best and hope the information we provide is "transferable" across regional boundaries.

Happy Printing!
