M476 multipurpose printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

We have a M476 printer at work and in the morning or when it hasn't been used for a while we get thick black horizontal lines on what is printed from the computers.  There is no problem with photocopying.  I have replaced the ink cartridge on more than one occassion and it does not help not to mention it is expensive to keep trying a new cartridge.  Any suggests on what else I can do to fix this issue?  I tried all the suggestions on the troubleshooting page,  ugh so annoying!

I have an M476dw and was ready to give up and recycle the printer. The following link looks very promising, will try it on my printer:

To wit: the empty color cartridges could be causing the problem. Replacing the color cartridges could fix it.
