HP Laser Jet 3800 Printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a HP Laser Jet 3800 printer that started having black smudgess on each print out.  I've done all the cleaning I can think of.

Now I'm thinking of replacing the fuser or the belt transport.

Any suggestions?

Please see image.  It is very prominent at the bottom going up the center of the page.  Thank you.

It looks like a defective black toner cartridge to me.

If you open the printer and move the shutter so you can see the drum in the black cartridge does it have a film of toner on it? (if it does then you need to replace it).

Thanks SHThompson!  I installed a new black toner cartridge and it fixed it.  🙂
