HP LaserJet Pro MFP M521dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a user in my company who wants to be able to scan duplex multi-page documents and have blank pages ignored.

The device in question is a HP LaserJet Pro MFP M521dn. I know the option is as easy as clicking a checkbox in HP Scan, but it does not appear that HP Scan is compatible with this device.

As far as I can tell, HP Scan and Capture does not have blank page suppression. I am unsure whether HP Smart, which is the software that is bundled with this device, has this functionality, but I am running into issues with it being unable to find the device, presumably because it is networked and is neither connected to this computer directly nor on WiFi. I also do not see an option within the settings of the HP LJ 521 Scan Driver.

For the reliability issue, check what type of communication port the printer driver is set for. Typically with Windows 10 the default is a WSD port which are notorious for causing issues. Configure the driver to use a Standard TCP/IP port instead.
