Hello,
My HP Officejet 5740 is printing with blank streaks through black ink. I have scanned a test page I printed as an easy example:
This test sheet was created on Word, and the lines are solid in the original document. As you can see, the printed page has breaks in the lines which are consistently spaced. This issue is only affecting black ink; when I try printing in color, there are no streaks or spaces.
The ink cartridge is still half full according to the printer. This just started happening; the first half of the ink from thisi cartridge did not have any issues.
I have already tried running all of the internal maintenance options for the printer: Clean Printer Cartridges (all three stages), Align Printer, and Clean Page Smears.
Can anyone tell me what might be causing this issue?

You can try to remove black ink cartridge and use lint free cloth damped in hot water to clean printhead by yourself.
Step 2 of a video:

Replace a black ink cartridge if cleaning doesn't help, there is dried ink in one segment of a printhead that can't be cleaned.
