Makes banging noise..Wont cycle on...Computer can see printer..

OK here is the cure. The light that facilitates the scanner is not aligning. There is a white bar the light has to square up to. Remove top. (you will need a star shaped screw driver) Release the top by pressing release with a small screw driver in lower middle square hole and pull towards you. Clean the glass so that the reader can tell where the edge is exactly. Do a FULL reset by unpluging power and while holding down # and 9 plug in power again and HOLD #9 DOWN UNTILL YOU SEE THE RESET NOTICE.

Worked for me.

HI,

This could indicate issues with one or more of the cartridge or even a problem with the scanner light. Only option to try is a reset. Do this by pulling out the power cable without turning the unit off. Press and hold the buttons # and 6 on the control panel of the unit. Then while holding those buttons reconnect the power cable. Keep holding the buttons until you see a messgae about a reset on the display and then let them go.

I've tried all the reset tricks, using *#6, 3 and 9. . . .the "on" light still blinks, and I can no longer print anything.  I also tried the *#123 and got a message about RL7102, whatever that means.  I'd appreciate any help!  Thanks.

If those resets are not working its likely tat the unit has some kind of defect, might be firmware or something else. Looks like it might be time to say goodbye to it unfortunatly.

Taking the glass out, cleaning it and resetting as per K1M2K3's post solved it for me.
