CP 4025 printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My 2 year old CP 4025 printer is displaying error codes, and won't come on. My IT folks say the printer is dead. My question is this, Is there anyone who can check it

Also, it is a nice printer with no external damage, it just won't work. Does anyone, including HP, do anything to rebuild or refurbish these machines?

Hi @Saw2th,

Could you please tell us what is the exact error code that your printer is displaying ?

Cheers!

First code was 49.4B03, then several other 49.xxxx codes after we turned it off and turned it back on

Unplug the network cable or if it's directly attached to a PC the USB cable and then turn the printer off wait about 15 seconds and turn it back on and see if the error happens again.

Often 49 errors are caused by corrupt print jobs If you get another error after you plug the cable back in then you might just need to have the print queue cleared on your PC or at a print server.

Hi @Saw2th,

Do what @SHThompson said to you firstly. Failing that, you can try a Hard disk Initialization and then an NVRAM Initialization. Downloading and installing the latest firmware would be a good idea also.

I hope that helps.

Cheers!

Just following up.

Did the suggestions in the thread help you resolve the problem?

If you have a hardware failure then the formatter card is the probable cause.

The Formatter is relatively easy to replace and you can usually find a shop to work on the machine for you.
