CP1518ni
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a CP1518Ni which will not print anything.  Print function from word, and other applications, works on other HP printer. Windows recocnizes printer is present.  On CP1518, windows shows print job spooling for 1-2 seconds, you can see it being sent to the printer in a Windows screen, and then it disappears as it would under a normal print job.  This is when you should hear the printer beginning its print function.  Nothing happens at printer.  Printer will not even print a test page.

Turning power off at printer and back on causes the printer to go through its cycling function.  No warning lights are on.  Nothing remains in the printing que as would normally be the case fro a buggered up print job.

Note:  been getting warning that cyan is low.  Screen shows all colours low, except for black.  Only cyan has a warning sign.  Shook all cartridges gently and reinstalled but no luck.

Of course rebooted everything...twice in fact and ordered new cartridges.  $350 so I hope that the printer is not cactused!

Try this, power off CP1518 and unplug all cables from it then plug only power cable back and power on, print any internal reports from front panel to see if it can print or not.

If it is not then CP1518 might have some problem itself needed to be found any deeper.

If it prints then from PC side try to close and re-open print spooler from control panel-> system management tools-> service then right click "print spooler" ->re-open.

If it still doesn't work then uninstall and reinstall driver to see if it helps.

Hope it helps.

I followed the steps suggested without any change. Are you sure that if all the coloured cartridges are reporting empty that it will not effect the printing ability?

it just seems like an odd coincidence that both happened at the same time.

From front panel,  -> System setup menu -> Print quality -> Replace supplies -> Override out -> press OK

Then try to print  Reports menu  from front menu -> Reports menu -> Demo page -> press OK

It should print out the  Demo page if there's not then you need to check CP1518 itself which it may have some problem.

Then try to print from PC again.
