HP Color LaserJet CP3525dn

The unit displays the "52.00 error" 5 seconds after "Calibrating" during boot up. The original problem with the printer is that it would stall at "6/6 A/F". That was resolved with a new formatter. Then "59.F0 error" which was resplved with a new fuser drive assembly. The "52.00 error" is not in the service manual. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated.

52.00 Error

Description

The scanner has experienced a startup error.

Recommended action

  1. Perform the laser scanner component tests in the DIAGNOSTICS menu.

  2. Depending on the test results, perform one of the following steps:

    • If the cyan or black component tests showed a startup failure, reconnect the connectors (J503) on the laser PCA and (J106 and J111) on DC controller PCA .

    • If the yellow or magenta component tests showed a startup failure, reconnect the connectors (J501) on the laser PCA and (J106 and J110) on the DC controller PCA.

  3. Replace the cyan/black laser scanner or the yellow/magenta laser-scanner.

Since you had to remove many items for the fuser motor I would think one of them was not reconnected.

Can I get into the DIAGNOSTICS after the error message "52.00" has been displayed? All it says is to shut down and reboot the printer.

Hit the menu button and see if it accesses the menu. If not then I suggest you remove the back cover and check your connections. On this model it is very easy to miss one of the connections on reassembly. I have had a couple come into the shop this year where I repaired with just connecting connectors that some other tech failed to reconnect when working on the printer.
