PARTS

iMac printing to LaserJet via WiFi.

Trying to print addresses onto 60lb 5x7 postcard stock from Apple Contacts.

I think I have two problems:

1. I don't have my postcard stock so I cut a sheet of letter paper to 5x7" and placed it into the manual feed. It will go through the printer but nothing prints on it. I did let a stander Letter size sheet go through the regular feed and it printed. But not the 5x7.

2. Since I will be using 60lb stock, I thought I should open the back door on the printer but the printer seems to want me to clsoe it. I can't send a print out of the back.

Hi,

Your printer does not support cardstock, as well it support 16 to 46lb media, so your media is not supported by the printer.

You may find its specifications below, look for the different Media sections:

Ok, well, that's is good to know. What about why it won't print though? If it wasn't clear, I don't have the 60lb stock as yet. I'm glad you told me it won't work in there—I'll run it though a different printer. But for this printer, in my test I did by cutting down a sheet of letter laser paper to 5x7, it would not print on it and wouldn't let me open the back door?

Your printer does not have a back feed, only front trays:

Tray 1: 16 to 46.6 lb; Tray 2, Optional 550-sheet Tray 3: 16 to 32 lb

You may select a Custom Paper size and load it into the tray, then check if it works.

Note: the printer have media size sencors, any curve due to cutting the paper may cause paper size mismatch errors.
