HP laserjetP1102w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We switched internet providers. Now can't get my laserjetP1102w to change the network name. I've uninstalled, deleted files, reinstalled complete solution drivers. No assistant comes up. So I went to program files found the complete solution clicked on setup. Got a couple of dialogue boxes: tried it twice. Once I choose add a new computer. Got the 2nd box asking if I wanted to hook up wifi. Said yes. Nothing after that.  2nd time I clicked on the repair existing computer box. Got the wifi question. Said yes. Nothing after that. In neither case did it change the network name when I checked by printing a configuration page. Help!! Totally frustrated, and I'm not a big techie person.

need to factory reset the printer

Hi,

Restore the default wireless settings as following:

1. Turn the product off.

2. Press and hold the wireless button and the cancel button, and then turn the product on.

3. Hold the buttons until all the lights blink in unison, and then release the buttons.

Next, download and follow below drivers and follow the steps on screen to connect the printer to the wireless network, be sure to select the P1100w model from the list and then temporarily connect a USB cable when the installation asks to do so:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL32431/bi-80329-11/hp_LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution-...

If the software extracts but doesn't launch, browse to C:\LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution, right-click HpSetup.exe and select Run as Administrator to launch the installation.

Ok. Got the factory reset done so the printed configuration page shows no network name.

Downloaded complete driver again. It did not launch an automatic set-up. So I went to the complete solution file in m program files and right clicked on Set-up exe. Clicked on run as administrator. Got a dialogue box. Told it I wanted to add a new computer. 2nd box asked if I wanted to do wi-fi. I checked yes. When that disappeared--nada. Nothing!

Question: Am I downloading the right driver. Is the LaserjetP110w2 the same as a LaserJet Professional 1100 series? There's a "P" in my model make, but not the work "professional."

Any suggestions, anyone? I'm back to factory reset right now. Help!

Done!

Went to factory reset. Downloaded complete driver. But instead of selecting the LaserjetP1100w series , I selected the LaserjetP1100 series (without the w). Then, when I went into the program files, I saw that there was now a wifi config file just below the uninstall file. Clicked that and finally got it to change the network name. Geesh!

Thanks all for your suggestions.

Shutta
