Laserjet 4000TN
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Asked in another post about getting my LJ 4000TN to connect wirelessly to out network. I have a JetDirect J6058A plugged into EIO1 on my printer (FW version U.24.06). It says "Signal strength: no signal", which seems strange as it is sitting right next to my computer, and I can connect to my wife's Canon wireless printer (only a few feet away from my computer) with no problem.

I also have a D-Link DP-311P to try, but it does not show up in the list of devices on the network, and neither does the JetDirect.

Computer is an HP 6530b laptop, running Windows 10 32 bit.

Can someone please walk me through getting things to work, with one wireless adapter or the other? My wife and I would both like to be able to use the laser printer without having to run a bunch of ethernet cables (the router for WiFi and ethernet is downstairs and at the far end of the house from where our computers are).

Hi,

What router do you use?

Is your router set for 2.4GHz with 802.11b wireless broadcast?

Be aware that both the Jetdirect and the D-Link print servers are quite older and support 802.11b wifi only, not later technologies as 802.11g/n

Hope that may help,

Shlomi

The router is dual band: 802.11b at 2ghz and 5ghz

Are you sure it os set to 802.11b?

802.11 g/n would be a more likely configuration for a dual router

Yes, I checked the router info. It says 2.4GHz b/g/n
