We have just received our Laser Jet Printer and we have been trying to print a PDF document that has a barcode at the bottom left side. The document prints very well however the area of the barcode is blank and the numbers under the barcode are printed.
How can I get the printer to print the barcode?

Depending on the driver you are using, there may be an option to "print as image"
After you select the file to print, look around on the printer driver preferences menus for that command. Sometimes it is under the "advanced" tab. You will need to unselect it before printing your next file. Also, with windows XP and pdf files, a firmware update on your printer may solve this, or you may have to open the file with a different version of adobe and it may work just fine.

You are very welcome. He is correct, no postsciprt driver is available for this printer. I've had problems in the past with clients who could not print barcodes or variable filled data depending on what version of Acrobat they were using. Just be sure when you've printed your document each time to turn the print as image option back off. If you're printing files with many pages, it takes more memory and large files have errors. I would typically splits those files into batches of 100-500 pages. Happy Printing!
