Trying unsuccessfully to print envelopes using Word. Here are the steps I am trying.

In Word, select Mailings.

Then select Envelopes

Under Options Tab, then Envelope Options, select Size 6 3/4 (3 5/8 x 6 1/2 in)

Under Printing Options select printer auto select for the tray

Select OK

Select Print

Sometimes I will get a printer out of paper message. (Even though the tray is loaded with several envelopes)

Sometimes it will run the envelope through but nothing is printed on the envelope. When this happens I get a message that the printer was expecting a different size paper and to load proper paper.

If I put in 8 1/2 x 11 paper it will print with the address located where I wouild expect it to be on my size 6 3/4 envelopes.

If I try going through File, Print, Printer Properties, Envelope and then select a size, it still prints as though it were 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

How do I get this to work?

Thank you.

EDIT: I used the above method for a #10 envelope and it works fine. So my question now is, how can I get it to print a size 3 3/4 envelope?

Have you configured the size for Tray 1 to match the envelope size?

You could also set Tray 1 size to "Any", (what is it currently set to?).

There is no size for a 6 3/4 size envelope but the 4 x 6 setting works well enough. Thank you. I didn't realize you had to set the size on the printer each time. This was not needed in my last HP printer. Thanks again.
