I use Windows 10 (64 bit). have set up the printer and connected it to my laptop using USB connection. The printer can now successfully print a "test page" but the printer is detected as the default printer in, say, Word or PPT or print a website. But after I click "print", the error message "Word can't print due to a problem in the printer setup" appears. This happens to ppt, websites, etc as well. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers but still cannot print. I wonder what is the problem?

One suggestion. After installing the printer, on the PC search for control panel and then go the devices and printers. Right click on the installed printer and select "make this printer default". You will get a warning that doing this will stop Windows from automatically managing your printers, which is what you want to do. Reopen your application and try printing again.
Please post back as I am curious if this will work as I mostly deal with Enterprise network connected printers not usb.

I had the same problem. I rolled back the Windows update, uninstalled my printer and reinstalled and everything is fine now. Looks like it was Microsoft's fault.
To roll back the up date go to the control panel and select "Update and "security" "view Update History"
then uninstall updates. Choose the most recent full update and uninstall it.
I might recommend that you don't update again for a while if you can avoid it. Like maybe a week or two.
