Hello,
I have the laser P1505. Since I installed windows 10, I keep having issues not able to print. The print jobs keeps accumulating but it does not print.
Interesting part is that when I was to uninstall and reinstall the printer & its driver it wont let me. Going to the printer section, I select delete and and message appears saying it deleting the files. That window never disappear !! I reboot the computer and try it again same thing. I removed every reference to P1505 on the registry and same thing. Try deletingit through device manage, wont delete.
Can soemone help me ?
Window or HP driver issue?

Thanks for stopping by the HP community. A very good day to you. I reviewed the post regarding issues with printing from the computer as print jobs get stuck and the printer drivers don’t get uninstalled also. I will be delighted to assist you here.
Superb description and stupendous diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require information regarding this:
- Did you run print and scan doctor?
- Did this occur after a recent software or Windows update?
For now, try these steps:
Perform a hard reset on the printer from this link: https://hp.care/2JGM3H3 and follow instructions from the section “Step 2: Reset the printer”.
Print and scan Doctor link: https://hp.care/2b4bUIM
Check for issue resolution. if it continues then perform these steps:
- Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
- Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
- Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
- Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
- Now check for issue resolution.
If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer, if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Photosmart printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
Then download the printer drivers from https://hp.care/2j1mILe and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.
Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
This should do the trick for you.
- If this does not work, then back up your files and perform a Microsoft Push Button reset of Windows 10 by following instructions from this link: https://hp.care/2toQrBj
- If the correct on-screen instructions are selected then there is no data loss.
- Then restart the computer and install the printer from the driver link mentioned above and the issue should get fixed.
Perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. Good luck to you. I will keep a watch for your response. Please note that I am not overloading you with steps but instead, giving you more information to work with.
We are as eager as you are to get the issue fixed. I request you to perform all these steps till the issue is fixed.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
