Laserjet Pro M15a
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I try to set the printer to be shared on my home network. When I check the share and try to save the configuration I get the answer "Not possible to save the configuration". And "There are no more available endpoints from the endpoint adresser" (translated from Norwegian).

I also tried to configure the virtual (USB) port, but get the answer "there was an error configuring the port" and "the operation is not supported".

I was supposed to use this a shared printer over our home network. Now it is an unusable piece of junk. Waste of money in my opinion, unless someone has an answer to the problem. And yes - I know my way around computers.

Win 8.1 operating SW - so MS cant spy on me.

Found the sollution:

Windows firewall must be started when you share the printer(s) !!!!??

After sharing you might deactivate the firewall from windows again.

I use ZoneAlarm (150% better that thw Windows s....), so I had deactivated the Win wall.

Also check that two services: Print Spooler & Print Extensions and notifications is running.

Hi @TYTEN

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. Sharing a printer over a network is a feature of Microsoft Windows and is not HP printer specific.

To know how to share the printer on a network, refer to this document from Microsoft for a Win PC.

To complete the print job without resolving the software issue, follow these steps to disable bidirectional printing support for each HP printer driver installed.

  1. Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes. The Printers and Faxes window opens.

  2. Right-click the printer icon for the printer that you want to modify, and then click Properties. The Properties dialog box opens.

  3. Click the Ports tab, click to clear the Enable bidirectional support check box, and then click OK.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Dear KUMAR0307,

if you read ALL of my text, you will see that I wrote:

This is exactly what I tried to do: Enable bidirectional support, but I cant even open up to edit the caracterisitcs of the port.

When I push that button I get the answer that I have written previous. The operation is not supported.

Regards,

TYTEN

You may try creating a new user account on the PC and check if the issue persists.

Click here to know how to create a new user account on the PC

If the issue persists, you may have to contact Microsoft support as sharing the printer over a network is a feature of Microsoft.

Keep me posted.
