I have J4100A in my printer, it shows empty web frame when opened in brawser, so I wanted to upgrade software in it. Since I cannot use WEB upgrade, I used Download manager from HP, but it starts and after a second freezes. Then I tried FTP to /DOWNLOAD directory as described on HP site, but there is no DOWNLOAD dir, only port1 directory ...
finally I saw
on this forum, but there is no <tftp> or <tftp-server> or <upgrade-file> command...there is only in ? (help) unlisted <upgrade> command...
does someone know what to do?
thx

Problem solved:
allthow HP says that HP Download Manager works with Win7, it only with WinXP. On XP machine I was able to update the software.
Regarding empty web page frame, web server in J4100A is using java script and will not be shown in new browsers, older ones that allow java script show everything ok and device is configurable.
IP can be configured on printer console.
Without WEB J4100A can be configured with telnet to printer IP, no username or password needed.

That MIO card may be to old to upgrade. Best suggestion I can give is to perform a cold reset of the printer to which the card is connected so the card can find ip, submask and default gateway from the router or server. Also on most printers that use this card you should be able to naviagate to the MIO menu and then change the settings from the control panel of the printer Do a google search for the method since it can be confusing where you have to start with changing cfg tcp/ip from no to yea and then need to navigate the settings to make the changes. If you use the cold reset the card should automatically do the settings.
