After replacing HP Provided print Cartridges, the printer pops up a warning when I print asking me to Activate Check the Cartridges. I click on the button to check and it tells me it cannot connect to the HP SERVERS? I've asked about this per the twitter post and checked the formum but cannot find an answer. I can ping the printer. I can print to the printer. The network settings are valid on the printer, and the two lights on the printer port are active? I even turned off the computers firewall. What gives?

Okay now I finally got the printer reinstalled after waiting for 1 half hour. I used the full version of the software to install it instead of the link that was provided on this page for alternate methods. This allowed me onto the web page for the printer and I was able to enable the web content. I am now trying to see if the cartridges are activated. Hmm, well that didn't go well. There is no way to get that message to pop up now that the printer has been reinstalled with the new cartridges installed? What is up with that? It shoud pop up until they are activated! Good grief! Stupid printer! Have always loved my hp printers, but looks like I am going to have to find another brand. Since I have been on here all day and haven't received one reply to this mess, I am going to close this out and say the heck with it. Obviously I'm the only one having this problem and no one is interested in helping me with it. Will not be back on here for this one.

Also, when I try to activate the Web Services on the printer it tells me that there is a Communication Error, Check the internet connection and try again. I've done this 4 times this morning and it keeps telling me the same thing.

Great! So tried remove and reinstall of printer. Rebooted and tried again. This time it errored out! Really? I spend 285 dollars for print cartridges and now the **bleep** printer won't install! I'd like to give up but that was my last dollars! So I guess I will just sit here and get drunk for the next 24 hours and forget about printers!

Well it's been two days now and I am really getting annoyed. Paid high dollar for printer when it was purchased new. I just bought and installed HP catridges at their highest price. And the printer will connect to HP to give me the web print address but it still will not Authoize the Catridges I paid so much for!
This is just insane that I cannot get free support to get these darn cartridges authorized that I bought direct from HP! Why would I pay any more for a part!!!!!

Greetings @padreking,
Thanks for the post.
I understand that the cartridges are not getting activated on your printer, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
Are you able to print and copy on your printer?
Do you get any particular error while activation?
Can you provide a screenshot of the error?
If the cartridge is not getting detected try the steps mentioned in this HP Article and let me know how it goes.
