LaserJet MFP M227fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a laserjet MFP M227fdw (also listed as NP12E4610 on the HP Assistant). I had earlier installed it with a network connection to my computer. The data transfer through the network, however, is unacceptably slow. Sometimes scanning a page takes 30 seconds or more.
I want to reconfigure this printer for a direct wire connection to my computer – for printing, scanning and all other purposes. I do not need a network connection for this printer, as I have two other network printers. Please show me how to make the change.

Hello,

Try re-configuring your printer using the USB connection as follows:

  1. Go to Devices and Printer to delete your printer icon.
  2. Make sure the printer is on.
  3. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, swipe until the Setup icon () to open the menu.
  4. Open the following menus:
    • Service
    • Restore Defaults
  5. Touch or press the OK button.
    The printer automatically restarts
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Open the HP Printer Assistant software, located on the Windows desktop, and select the connection of choice.
  8. Follow the displayed instructions on the screen to finalise the printer setup.

I remain at your disposal in case of need.
