Hi

I hope you can help.  Have read many of the other posts and they don't seem to end well...

I have a Colour Jet Pro MFP M281 fdw...it had the original cartridges in them - worked great.  Then I replaced them with non HP cartridges and it continued to work very well for at least 4 months.

This morning I was able to print an 80 page document, and now when I try to print it comes up with the error message of Supply Memory Error.

I tried https://www.tonergiant.co.uk/blog/2018/11/printer-supply-memory-error-how-to-fix/ but it didn't help -so thought I would come to the genuine experts...read this https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/MFP-M281-FDW-COLOR-LASERJETPRO-SUPPLY-MEMORY-ERROR/m.... One link came up blank, the other mentioned dynamic security that was in place for my own protection. Which is great but I can't print.

you'll usually see this when the contacts in the printer are not meshing well with the contacts/chip on the toner cartridges.  non-hp toners have a higher rate of failure than OEM cartridges.  I'd wager if you replaced them, the problem would go away.
