I reinstalled Windows 11 64-bit, and learned that support for this FANTASTIC printer has been dropped.

A representative suggested using upd pcl6 that can be found on the HP site. After combing through the supported printers, it appears (maybe I misread?) that it is not compatible with my printer.

The built-in MS driver works somewhat, but it has major delays waking the printer. I haven't attempted to scan any documents, and have read that others cannot do so with some of these universal drivers.

Do I have a better option than the MS driver I'm currently using?

Your printer is supported by both the PCL6 and PS drivers in the current Universal Printer Driver.

Check the port type set up in your generic driver, it's probably set to WSD.

If it is set to WSD then set up a TCP/IP port instead, that will likely resolve the delays.
