7:44 PM Smit Ruparelia: I am receiving supply memory error after updating the firmware
7:45 PM Smit Ruparelia: Are you suggesting that HP is intentionally blocking using non-genuine ink cartridges?
7:47 PM Kunal: Smit, as the firmware update make printer more secure as the non HP toner cause the hardware issue. So in this case HP always recommend to use the HP genuine ink toners.

You could read the readme file before firmware update and you would know that lates firmware prevents using non-genuine HP toners it's explained.
You can get older printer firmware and do downgrade:

The link you provided leads to a website that has all the firmware in .rfu format. How am I suppose to use .rfu file to downgrade the firmware of my printer. Why can't just HP stop this anti-consumer practice. On the purchase page of the printer it is clearly written that HP "Recommends" using genuine HP supplies. Then why is HP "Forcing" consumers to buy genuine toners? What is next, they will start forcing the consumers to use HP paper with "INKLOC TECHNOLOGY", as if that's even a real technology?
